Infosec UK Recap: DLP but Where are the Zombies?

I just returned from Infosecurity UK in London, and besides enjoying the (not very) occasional beer I got to mingle with dozens of Commtouch business contacts and licensing partners at this annual security event. It was great to see lots of old friends in new places (it seems hardly anyone ever leaves infosec, they just move to a different infosec company every now and then for a change of scenery).

Coming right on the heels of RSA, I was in a good position to compare and contrast, and what was interesting is that DLP (Data Leak Prevention) made a strong showing at both events. Interestingly, most of the DLP offerings promoted at the show do not yet include any type of zombie detection, so as a result there was a lot of interest in our new GlobalView Zombie Intelligence Service. BTW if you’re looking for some background on DLP, The Tech Herald put together a very good primer.

Commtouch licensing partners had a strong showing at the show, and it was great to see MXSweep displaying the RPD technology animation at their booth. Here are some quick snaps of some partner booths from the show floor. Apologies to any I missed – it was a quick trip and I am sure I didn’t get them all. Feel free to send me your own booth pics and I’ll update the slide show.
