Give thanks for anti-spam this Thanksgiving

Yes – you should give thanks for anti-spam since it would have prevented you from receiving all sorts of unwanted emails. Like these horrid marketing scams. This group of spammers needs recipients to respond before Thanksgiving in order to claim government grants. The email titles take the email address names to create a personalized approach as shown below (“Money and Holiday Food and more for the ”).

Then there is this email from an “insane millionaire” itching to share his secret to instant wealth. He claims it’s free but our experience with these types of emails is that there is always some charge (for shipping or processing or upgrades). In all cases the purchasers of these “online business kits” end up in online forums, feeling angry and cheated. Our advice to the insane millionaire: Buy a calendar – Thanksgiving is not on the 12th of November!
