Commtouch has just wrapped up a very busy first quarter of 2010, in which our Business Development team participated in five major industry events and we announced two new products.
Starting in mid-February, the Americas team attended the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG) event in San Francisco. The week following MAWWG, the team set up a booth at the Parallels Summit 2010 in Miami, Florida. During the event, Commtouch announced its new Microsoft Exchange Connector. The connector enables service providers operating exchange and hosted exchange servers to benefit from the advanced messaging protection Commtouch offers with its Anti-spam and GlobalView Mail Reputation perimeter defense solutions.
Following a busy February, we headed straight into an even busier March, taking part in three different industry events. The month started off with Commtouch’s international team heading off to the premier European technology show, CeBIT, located in Hannover, Germany. During the same week, the Americas team, along with several of our corporate executives, held meetings with partners and potential customers during the RSA Conference in San Francisco, California. In keeping with tradition, Commtouch held its annual happy hour party at the end of the second day of the show with many visitors dropping by for some drinks and light refreshments at this year’s “In the cloud” cocktail party.
Topping off the busy Q1 was WebHostingDay, which took place March 17-19th in Cologne, Germany. Having grown by 40% over last year, WebHostingDay has, according to the organizers, become the largest international hosting provider event. Although the official numbers have not yet been posted, the event was fully booked, with pre-show numbers indicating that 3,500 participants registered for the two-day event.
WebHostingDay was a very successful event, with many hosting providers dropping by the Commtouch booth to learn about our new outbound spam protection solution, which was announced during the event. Gabriel Mizrahi, Commtouch’s VP Technologies also presented a conference session on “Taking your open source email security to the next level”, where he utilized several customer case studies to demonstrate how hosting providers can increase spam protection, lower their bandwidth requirements, and reduce their Capex and Opex, by complimenting their open source anti-spam solutions with commercial solutions.
